Spring Vision Quest (Victoria)

“You know after any truly initiating experience that you are part of a much bigger whole. Life is not about you henceforward, but you are about life.”

― Richard Rohr

Vision quest is a powerful way to surrender to the greater whole. An opportunity to step into the wilderness, letting go of the expectations and roles that hold us in place, peeling back the layers and discovering what moves us. It is a ritual sacrifice that releases the quester from the trappings of civilisation and leaves them washed up on the shore of being.

It is my great honour to join Claire Dunn, Rosie Cooper and Phillip Wright in offering the vision quest process at Banksia Ridge (in Gippsland near Seaspray) in November of this year. It is an 8 day program including a 3 day, 3 night solo nature immersion where questers will stay within a small circle free to connect with themselves, the Earth and the divine. During the solo immersion time questers will fast from all things familiar, including food.

“To lead a life that goes beyond pettiness and prejudice and always wanting to make sure that everything turns out on our own terms, to lead a more passionate, full, and delightful life than that, we must realize we can endure a lot of pain and pleasure for the sake of finding out who we are and what this world is.”

― Pema Chödrön

I have undertaken two vision quests over the last few years and both have been profound experiences that are difficult to capture in words. Rather than linking to my (very imperfect) accounts I invite you to get in touch with the yearnings of your own heart to find out if this is right for you.

If you feel called to quest you can visit the quest page at Nature’s Apprentice for further details and information on how to sign up. If you have any questions, I’d love to hear them, leave a comment below, send me an email or message me on Facebook.
